Kristin A. Stainbrook, Ph.D.

Deputy Director of Research

Kristin A. Stainbrook, Ph.D., serves as deputy director of research at AHP and has 20 years of experience in the design and implementation of process and outcomes studies for homeless, criminal justice, and behavioral health populations. She is expert in research instrument design, data collection and analysis, training and technical assistance, project management, and preparing and presenting written reports. Dr. Stainbrook has demonstrated experience as a program manager, having served as the principal investigator on several large multisite, multicomponent evaluations and as lead staff on the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) indefinite deliverable/ indefinite quantity (IDIQ) and the AHP response to requests for proposals related to program evaluation. Dr. Stainbrook has specific experience with both multisite and single-site evaluations of behavioral health and housing interventions for a range of homeless populations. Currently, she serves as the AHP lead on the SAMHSA Homeless Program Evaluation, documenting efforts nationally to prevent, treat, and end homelessness and to disseminate best practices for the field. Other recent homelessness research has focused on evaluating trauma-specific and case management interventions for mothers experiencing homelessness.
