Richard Landis, M.S.W.

Senior Director for Strategic Planning and Business Development

Richard Landis, M.S.W., is a senior director at AHP. Mr. Landis has been a pioneering leader in identifying and helping solve challenges facing the behavioral health care field. He is a specialist in the areas of workforce development, substance use treatment and prevention, mental health promotion, and HIV/AIDS. His more than 30 years of experience includes both direct clinical practice and extensive experience conducting human services research, as well as managing both small and large substance use treatment/prevention and mental health projects. Mr. Landis co-manages AHP’s Center for Technical Assistance and Training, which includes a staff of more than 30 and a budget in excess of $6 million/year. Representative center projects include Substance Abuse and Women, Children, and Families, Massachusetts Access to Recovery, and Co-Occurring Disorders. He was a member of the Addiction Technology Transfer Center (ATTC) Research-to-Practice National Committee and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Center for Substance Abuse Treatment (CSAT) taskforce on workforce issues and is the author of more than 50 articles and presentations in the fields of substance use, HIV, technology transfer, and workforce development.

In his previous role as the senior vice president at Danya International, Inc., reporting directly to the president and CEO, Mr. Landis was responsible for oversight, planning decisions, and policy guidance on all marketing, medical, and science communication; business development; research; and international projects. He managed the day-to-day implementation of Danya business and marketing strategies, and, as part of senior management, he participated in corporate strategic planning/business development activities. Mr. Landis oversaw the following areas: social marketing, government marketing, proposal management, medical and science communication, and research and evaluation.
